The Sunbridge Institute campus offers its visitors and residents the possibility to become part of an unusual learning and living community.
The campus is located 30 miles northwest of Manhattan, on 200 acres of land surrounded by beautiful gardens, orchards, and woodlands. The campus is part of the Threefold Educational Foundation, a community of six institutions based on the work of Rudolf Steiner: a K-12 Waldorf school, a school for artistic and therapeutic movement, a center for biodynamic gardening and environmental education, a health food co-op and the Threefold Foundation, which acts as trustee of the land and provides affordable housing for community members.
In addition, Sunbridge Institute is a neighbor to the Fellowship Community, an inter-generational, anthroposophically based community where people of all ages live with, assist, and care for the elderly. Both the Fellowship Community and the Threefold community offer many of the Sunbridge resident students volunteer and work opportunities that provide a practical experience of some of Steiner’s ideals at work.
The intimate and natural setting provides Sunbridge students, and course and conference participants, with professional networking opportunities that contribute to their renewal and provide a model for other communities.
