SUMMARY:The Foundational Teachers' Course of 2019: Experiencing Rudolf Steiner’s Seminal Three-Part Lecture Series in the Context of 21st Century North America
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, to mark the historic occasion of Waldorf Education’s 100th anniversary\, Sunbridge Institute’s Waldorf Elementary Teacher Education program will be recreating Rudolf Steiner’s very first Waldorf teacher education course. \nThe Foundational Teachers’ Course of 2019: Experiencing Rudolf Steiner’s Seminal Three-Part Lecture Series in the Context of 21st Century North America will bring together Sunbridge faculty\, students\, and auditing program graduates for a festive fifteen days of lecture\, discussion\, and artistic activity (following the same schedule Rudolf Steiner and his original teacher education students—the first cohort of Waldorf educators—experienced in August-September 1919). From jointly reading and discussing his three main texts (Foundations of Human Experience\, Practical Advice to Teachers\, and Discussions with Teachers)\, to engaging in eurythmy\, singing\, speech\, painting and drawing\, we will celebrate a momentous century of Waldorf Education\, exploring Steiner’s thoughts and methods and considering them through the lens of our current time and place. \nIn addition to comprising the summer 2019 curriculum for our currently enrolled elementary program students\, this unique offering is also open to graduates of any full program offered by Sunbridge Institute or Sunbridge College who wish to participate by registering and paying an auditing fee. (Please note: Our specialized subject intensives do not qualify as full programs.) \n  \nFaculty \nFaculty will include: \nJana Hawley\, MSEd\nGeorge McWilliam\nStephen Sagarin\, PhD\nElizabeth Hall\, MA \nplus artistic specialists \n  \nSchedule \nMonday\, July 8-Friday\, July 12: 8am-6pm\nMonday\, July 15-Friday\, July 19: 8am-6pm\nMonday\, July 22-Friday\, July 26:  8am-6pm \n  \nCost / Registration \nThis course is included in the regular tuition paid by Sunbridge Elementary program students.
