SUMMARY:Dynamic Movement Across the Grades: Harnessing The Power of Movement for Healthy and Harmonious Classrooms
DESCRIPTION:An online workshop for grades one-eight teachers \nCalling all grades teachers! Our online workshop for grades 1-8 educators explores techniques for building healthy rhythms that support the teacher’s classroom management and meet each child’s physical\, emotional\, and academic growth. \nParticipants will work with developmental and foundational movement patterns to address student behaviors; extra lesson activities to support classroom learning; and rhythm and breathing activities to harmonize the group. We’ll also be looking at student experience — including self-regulation\, impulse control\, restlessness\, distractibility\, etc. — and how movement activities can bring balance and wellness to the classroom. \nNOTE: This event has been designed fully for grades 1-5 educators\, while also containing information relevant for middle school teachers. Let us know on your registration form if you’re an upper grades teacher so our facilitator can be certain to bring material that will meet your needs. \nFacilitator \nSuchi Swift is an Approaching the Grades instructor for Sunbridge’s Summer Series courses and was a class teacher for many years at Green Meadow Waldorf School\, where she sat on the collegium and served as lower school chair. Suchi began her teaching career in the New York City public school system in 2002\, and after eight years working across a variety of grades decided to pursue Waldorf education professionally. Prior to joining Green Meadow\, she taught at New Amsterdam School and The Brooklyn Waldorf School. Suchi earned her BA from Sarah Lawrence College\, her MS in education from Hunter College\, and her elementary teaching certificate from Sunbridge. \n  \nThis workshop will be presented over Zoom and will not be recorded. \nSchedule \nFriday\, December 2: 7:30pm-9pm Eastern Time\nSaturday\, December 3: 10am-11:30am Eastern Time and 12:30pm-2 pm Eastern Time \nCost \n$165 includes non-refundable $25 registration fee \nDiscounts \n\n15% off for schools sending two or more registrants\n15% off for Sunbridge program graduates\nFree to current Sunbridge program students in good standing\n25% off for payment made in Canadian dollars\n\nDiscount codes will appear on your registration form.
