DESCRIPTION:Understanding Classroom Management: How to Create a Healthy Learning Environment is Sunbridge’s latest pedagogical leadership workshop\, relevant for administrators\, pedagogical leaders\, faculty chairs\, and grades 1-8 teachers. \nWith Karen Crandall and Anna Silber \nThis workshop has reached its capacity. Click here to be placed on a waiting list. \nUnderstanding Classroom Management addresses a topic that is integral to everyone’s teaching life. \nThrough presentation and large and small group discussions and activities\, this workshop will help you discover: \n\nYour own approach to classroom management\nThe ideal elements of a healthy learning environment\nCommon obstacles that detract from the health of your classroom\n\nYour takeaway will be an understanding of the tools needed to inform and improve your teaching and the knowledge of how to employ them in creating a healthy learning environment for you and your students. \nFacilitators \n \nKaren Crandall is a class teacher at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs\, NY\, where she currently teaches sixth grade. This is Karen’s third class cycle. She led her first class\, grades one through eight\, from 1993-2001 and her second class from 2007-2012.  She also sits on the school’s Collegium and chairs the Teacher Development Committee.  Karen\, who has facilitated previous Sunbridge workshops and is a member of our Summer Series faculty\, holds a BFA from Penn State University and an MSEd from Sunbridge College. \n  \n \nAnna Silber is Sunbridge Institute’s Director of Education. Anna taught as a class teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School for five years and served there as a member of the Teacher Development Committee; she also worked with the Green Meadow administrator on curriculum-related projects and offered teacher support. Anna has been a student of anthroposophy for many years and lectures about Waldorf Education throughout the country; she is also the originator and lead instructor for Sunbridge’s Waldof Weekend workshops. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in elementary education from Sunbridge College. \n  \nSchedule\nSaturday\, January 27: Doors open at 8:30am for check-in registration. Please arrive with enough time to register and get settled. Workshop begins promptly at 9 and runs until 5:15\, with time for breaks and lunch.  \nHousing \nCampus housing is reserved directly through Threefold Educational Center. \nCost\n \n$205 (includes snacks & lunch\, and a $25 non-refundable registration fee). Online registration closes at noon on Friday\, January 26. Space providing\, we will accept walk-in registrants on Saturday (walk-in cost is $220). This workshop has reached its capacity and walk-in registration will not be accepted.. Click here to be placed on a waiting list.  \nDiscounts \nFor every 5 attendees it registers\, a school may send a 6th attendee for free (the 6th registration cost will be rebated after the workshop takes place).
