Summer Series 2016 course with instructor Lisa Miccio of Green Meadow Waldorf School
Open to everyone, including current and prospective early childhood educators, parents, grandparents, and caregivers
Join us on a wondrous journey! This comprehensive course—a perennial Sunbridge summer favorite—will help you explore the essential elements of Waldorf early childhood education.
Through the guidance of a highly experienced Waldorf early childhood educator, you will delve into child development; learn about rhythms, transitions, and the cycle of the year; explore the importance of play; examine the inner development of the teacher; experience lessons in handwork, art, movement, and circle time activities; and develop a true practical understanding of Waldorf early childhood education.
Lisa Miccio teaches kindergarten at Green Meadow Waldorf School (NY), where she also co-chairs the Early Childhood section and sits on the Collegium Committee and the Board of Trustees. Lisa has been in education for 19 years, with 16 years experience as a Waldorf early childhood educator. In addition to her nine years as a member of the Green Meadow faculty, Lisa’s experience includes teaching at Mountain Laurel Waldorf School (NY) and Dayspring Community School (NY). She holds a BA in English from the College of Charleston, an MS in Elementary Education from CW Post, Long Island University, and an MS in Waldorf Education from Sunbridge College.
Students who took this course with Lisa previously had this to say:
~ I have attended many, many seminars/workshops. I honestly feel this is the best I have encountered.
~ The course was amazing!
~ Lisa really brought a lot of the questions that came up back to her experience and this was so valuable to listen to. She is gentle and calm and you can tell really loves teaching this material.
~ If there is a better example of a Waldorf teacher, I would not believe it! Lisa embodied the ideals.
~ Wonderful course! A great mix of lecture, discussion, and play
~ I will carry the experience of painting with Lisa for a long time.
~ This course came highly recommended and it far exceeded my expectations.
~ THANK YOU!! This was exceptional.
