Introduction to Waldorf Early Childhood Education

Sunday, July 1, 2012 - Friday, July 6, 2012

Develop a practical understanding of the Waldorf nursery/kindergarten in this week-long immersion into the world of early childhood. You’ll experience hands-on lessons in music, handwork, and puppetry; discuss classroom management, literacy, and child development; and hear the first-hand accounts of three early childhood teachers intent on sharing their love and appreciation for working with pre-school children. A perennial Sunbridge summer favorite!

Instructor Connie Manson currently serves on the faculty of Waldorf Sarasota (FL) and has taught Waldorf nursery, kindergarten, and parent-child programs for over 18 years. She has shared the magic of puppetry and music as a professional puppeteer and has provided many workshops for parents and teachers of young children in Waldorf schools and training centers nationwide.

Instructor Lisa Miccio  currently teaches kindergarten at Green Meadow Waldorf School (NY), where she is co-chair of the Early Childhood section. Lisa has been a Waldorf early childhood educator for 10 years. Her experience includes teaching at Mountain Laurel Waldorf School and Dayspring Community School.

Instructor Patricia Rubano is an early childhood educator at Sanderling Waldorf School (CA), where she has been on the faculty for 12 years. Patricia also taught kindergarten at Green Meadow Waldorf School for many years and helped found the Waldorf School of San Diego (CA).  Patricia currently works in the realm of adult education, mentoring early childhood teachers and offering workshops, and is Co-Director of the Biography and Social Art program.
