Preparing for Grade Seven

Sunday, July 15, 2012 - Friday, July 20, 2012

Immerse yourself in the world of the Waldorf seventh grade. Come build your skills and freshen your familiarity with typical seventh grade subjects such as the Age of Exploration, Renaissance history, and algebra. We’ll perform chemistry and physics experiments, learn physiology and lab safety, and will explore the arts from a hands-on perspective. An hour each day will be devoted to teacher-facilitated discussion groups, targeted to both new and experienced teachers, on topics drawn from the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and relevant to the participants.

Instructor Christopher Sblendorio is currently guiding his fourth seventh grade class at the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School (MA). Christopher has been a class teacher at the School for over 30 years and has taken three classes through the eight-year cycle. He is the author of “The Falconer” (AWSNA Publications), a biography of a 13th century Holy Roman Emperor, which began as a play he wrote for one of his sixth grade classes.

Instructor Thomas Clark (science) currently serves as Middle School Support Teacher at The Denver Waldorf School (CO).
