SUMMARY:Working with Conflict as a Catalyst for Change in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Conflict as an inevitable aspect of organizational life is a concept that most of us resignedly accept and then try our hardest to avoid. But what if we were trained in how to view conflict constructively? And shown how to use it as a valuable tool for effecting positive change in the workplace? \n\nWorking with Conflict as a Catalyst for Change in the Workplace is designed to do just that. \nThrough training provided by Sunbridge Collaborative Leadership facilitators Jessica Heffernan Ziegler and Joachim Ziegler\, PhD\, this two-part event will help you to: \n\nUnderstand what makes an organization “conflict capable”\nLearn how conflict can lead to innovative ideas and practices\nDevelop the skills needed to use conflict to improve collegial relationships and group dynamics in your own school\, business\, or organization\n\nYou will leave with highly valuable insights\, strategies and enthusiasm for your work ahead. \nNOTE: Working with Conflict is presented in two separate\, yet complementary workshops. Participants may register for either workshop\, or to fully receive maximum benefits sign up for both (and receive a discounted combination price). The second workshop will involve participants tackling real-world workplace conflicts using information covered in detail in the first workshop. \nMarch 22-23: Workshop I: Working with Conflict as a Catalyst for Change in the Workplace: Understanding the Levels of Escalation and De-escalation  \nApril 12-13: Workshop II: Working with Conflict as a Catalyst for Change in the Workplace: Practical Applications  \nFacilitators \n\nJoachim Ziegler\, PhD\, has been working in the fields of organizational development and human resources development since 1994. A partner in MIRA Companions for Development\, an international consulting group\, Joachim’s current list of American and international clients encompasses the banking\, pharmaceutical\, retail\, and manufacturing sectors\, as well as anthroposophical institutions and Waldorf schools. Joachim is a member of the College of Social Sciences Section at the Goetheanum and the international Association for Social Development and has taught at the University of Muenster and at Germany’s first private university in Herdecke. He holds an MA in adult education and a PhD in medical education. \nJessica Heffernan Ziegler has been the executive director of Sunbridge Institute since 2008. Her professional focus on leadership skills\, governance issues\, and personnel development are utilized both in her executive director role and in her work as co-instructor of Sunbridge’s Collaborative Leadership course and related workshops; she also teaches Waldorf school administration in Sunbridge’s Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher Education program and previously taught in Sunbridge College’s Administration and Biography programs. Jessica is a partner in MIRA Companions for Development\, an international consulting group\, and works as an executive coach and organizational development consultant for Waldorf administrators and teachers and other professionals in diverse institutions and schools in both the US and Germany. She served as the first administrator and as a board member at a Waldorf school she co-founded in Everswinkel\, Germany\, and has sat on many other boards\, including her current role as trustee of the Otto Specht School in Chestnut Ridge\, NY. Jessica holds a BS in business management and did her biography training with Karl-Heinz Finke and her executive coach training with SECA International. \n  \nSchedule \nEach workshop takes place in a synchronous online classroom \nALL TIMES LISTED ARE EASTERN (NY) TIME ZONE \nFriday evening: Zoom session runs from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm ET\nSaturday: Zoom sessions run from 10:30 am-12:00 pm and 12:30-2:00 pm ET \nNOTE: Due to its interactive nature\, and the content brought by the participants\, this workshop will NOT be recorded. \nCost \nSingle workshop: $175 includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee \nIf selecting this option\, there is a 15% off discount for each registration for: \n\n\n\nSchools sending 2 or more participants\, or\nParticipants who have previously attended Sunbridge’s weeklong Collaborative Leadership Summer Series course\, or\nSunbridge teacher education program graduates\, or\nPayments made in Canadian dollars.\n\n\n\nDiscounts may not be combined. \nTwo-workshop bundle: $250 includes two $25 non-refundable registration fees  \n\nIf selecting this option\, no other discounts apply.\n\nCurrent Sunbridge program students in good standing may register for a single workshop and pay just a $25 non-refundable registration fee or both workshops and pay just two $25 non-refundable registration fees. \nQualification for discounts will be verified by Sunbridge staff.  \n  \n\nQuestions?\nPlease contact Barbara Vitale\, admissions and summer coordinator\, at summer@sunbridge.edu or 845-425-0055 x20 \n  \nWe reserve the right to make faculty substitutions when necessary.
