DESCRIPTION:Summer Series 2016 workshop\, with instructor Motria Shuhan of Acorn School \nFor early childhood educators; also open to parents\, grandparents\, and others \nThe cycle of the year offers an artistic wellspring to guide our work with young children. Come join others in a studio setting and create seasonal craft projects that celebrate the unfolding year. We will explore the importance of working with nature and the seasons in both practical and artistic ways. \nWorkshop will include these themes and take-home projects: \n\nGetting creative with small nature displays for use on a meal table\, hanging ring\, or for children to take home\nExploring the possibilities of wet felting with children\nDiscovering the magic of small puppets and their accompanying songs and stories\n\nInstructor \n \nMotria Shuhan is Director and Founder of Acorn School\, a developing member of WECAN located in Accord\, NY. She also serves as a student mentor and teacher in Sunbridge’s Early Childhood Teacher Education program. Motria’s fourteen years of experience working with young children include nine years at the Mountain Laurel Waldorf School in New Paltz\, NY\, where she worked in the nursery and kindergarten and served as the Pedagogical Chair for three years. With a special interest in the art of puppetry\, Motria has staged shows for conferences\, festivals\, and other community events. A graduate of Sunbridge’s Early Childhood Teacher Education program\, she also completed a three-year Advanced Therapeutic Course for Early Childhood Educators in Denver\, Colorado. \nStudents who took a course with Motria in summer 2015 had this to say: \n~ Motria was wonderful\, knowledgeable\, and approachable. \n~ Great content\, demonstrations\, and advice. I learned a lot and had fun. \n~ Motria has a great presence and sense of humor. \n~ Motria was amazing. She helped us all to create something that seemed impossible. \n~ She is light-hearted\, kind\, and warm. Her spirit radiates generosity and love. You should bring her back as often as possible. None of us wanted our classes with her to end. \nYour workshop also includes eurythmy with Patti Regan of Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School (MA). \n  \nWorkshop Schedule\nAll day Thursday starting at 8-8:30am\, through 3:30pm Friday \n  \nWorkshop Fee\n$295 (includes all materials and non-refundable $25 registration fee).
