Workshop Background


When we look into our classrooms, we see children in physical and social distress and teachers who are asking for help to understand and respond to our modern children’s needs. In years past, we could work more easily with the group as a whole in circle imaginations, stories, and the rich offerings we bring in practical life and artistic activities. Now many children are calling for more individualized responses and direction. All the things we know to do are still very good. But the children of our time are asking for more. Finding the way to “more” is what this professional deepening series is all about. Neurodiversity–or neuro-expansiveness–is a fact confirmed by current research. The differences individuals carry from birth through adulthood are biographical facts that cannot be changed.…
