Welcome to Sunbridge Institute, an independent, not-for-profit adult learning community. North America’s oldest Waldorf teacher education institute, Sunbridge presents low-residency, world-renowned Waldorf teacher education programs, as well as professional development and general interest courses and workshops on Waldorf education and teaching, organizational leadership, and the arts. The teachings of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education, are at the heart of the Sunbridge mission, and we are dedicated to the support of Waldorf education in North America.

Registration for Summer Series 2026 courses is now open.

In addition to our teacher education programs, Sunbridge also offers a variety of courses and workshops designed for seasoned educators and administrators, as well as for those who are brand new to Waldorf education. From our weeklong Summer Series courses to our school-year weekend workshops, we have a professional development or introductory experience to meet all levels of interest and need. And with most of these events taking place online, you can often attend from anywhere.

Sunbridge offers a full array of Waldorf teacher education programs in low-residency formats that enable students from all geographic points to become part of our learning community. Applications are now available for these cohorts enrolling summer 2026: Early Childhood, Elementary, and High School Teacher Education diploma programs, World Languages & Cultures Teacher Education certificate program, and, for highly experienced Waldorf educators with relevant prior coursework, Completion Tracks of our Early Childhood and Elementary programs.
