
 A 3-part workshop series for teachers and administrators to gain new perspectives, strategies, and frameworks for creating reciprocal classroom and school relationships with their local indigenous communities
Presented by HAWI, a consulting firm based in the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory (Ontario, Canada), and through a collaborative inquiry approach that includes reflective dialogue, sharing, and learning, this workshop series is designed to grow awareness, develop skill-sets, and provide curricula resource
While each of the three workshop sessions builds on the next, each session may be taken separately. There is a discounted price when signing up for all three.
Series Topics
Session 1 (October 3-4)
- Reciprocal Relationships: Implementing genuine, action-based, inclusion work
- Mother Earth: Building connections to the local territory and our relationship to the Earth; creating Living Territory Acknowledgements
Session 2 (November 7-8)
- Material Culture: Exploring the use and display of particular artifacts and cultural items
- Creating Culturally Safe Spaces:Â Putting care and intention into creating spaces that are warm, safe, and inclusive

Instructor
TekonwanyahĂ©:sen Stacy Hill, an indigenous educator and leader, is a member of the Wakenyahten/Turtle Clan of the Kanyenâkehaka/Mohawk Nation of the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. Stacy has been learning about and exploring Waldorf education since 2005 and has over twenty years of experience working in multiple educational environments, from babes-in-arms to post-secondary levels. Among the many roles she has held over the years are serving as co-founder, kindergarten teacher, administrative chair, leadership circle member, and parent at Skaronhyaseâko:wa – The Everlasting Tree School in Ontario. Since her youth, Stacy has been actively involved in her community, initiating programs and contributing her innovative ideas. She holds a BA, a B.Ed, a B.A.Ed and is a Year 1 graduate of Kanyenâkeha (Mohawk language) at Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa.

Saturday: 10:30 am-12:00 pm ET and 12:30 pm-2:00 pm ET
