Waldorf Weekend

Friday, July 21, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - Sunday, July 23, 2017 @ 1:00 pm

Foundations and Fundamentals of Waldorf Education from Early Childhood through High School

Our popular Waldorf Weekend workshop is designed to provide an in-depth and experiential survey of the basis and the basics of Waldorf Education. Open to all, it is especially relevant for new and prospective Waldorf community members (teachers, parents, grandparents, staff, board members) and lovers of education.

In addition to exploring the Waldorf curriculum from early childhood through high school, this workshop includes a discussion of Rudolf Steiner’s insights in human development and a look into the anthroposophical underpinnings of the Waldorf impulse. You’ll enjoy hands-on artistic activities such as music, movement, and drawing, and there’ll be plenty of time for questions and answers. Our Waldorf Weekends are a most memorable—and fun!—learning experience.

Anna Silber (Lead; Early Childhood and Elementary Curriculum / Music / Drawing) is Sunbridge Institute’s Director of Education. Anna taught as a class teacher at Green Meadow Waldorf School for five years and served there as a member of the Teacher Development Committee; she also worked with the Green Meadow administrator on curriculum-related projects and offered teacher support. Anna has been a student of anthroposophy for many years and has lectured about Waldorf Education throughout the region. Prior to her work in Waldorf Education, she had a career in commercial real estate finance at J.P. Morgan Investment Management. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from UC Berkeley and a master’s degree in elementary education from Sunbridge College.

High school curriculum and eurythmy faculty TBA.

Students who took this workshop in previous summers had this to say:
~ The weekend has been wonderful. The information was communicated in a clear way, and I feel like I have a much deeper understanding of what it means to look at the world through the Waldorf lens.
~ The weekend was outstanding! I was deeply inspired, both as a teacher and as a human being.
~ Highly informed, warm-hearted facilitators with a deep concern for the group’s understanding and experience.
~ I am in awe of Anna, and cannot say enough good things about her.
~ This was one of the single most wonderful weekends in my life. I came with the intention of learning more about Waldorf Education. I am leaving with a feeling of a shifting of my soul.
~ This was a wonderful workshop, and I highly recommend that everyone from teacher to parents take interest and reap the benefits.
