Join three experienced Waldorf professionals in exploring best practices in Waldorf teacher development. For administrators, teachers, committee members, and pedagogical, faculty, and section chairs.

FACILITATORS

Sabine Kully is Faculty Chair and high school eurythmy teacher at The Waldorf School of Garden City (NY), where her oversight of the whole school community includes hiring and firing, curriculum development, and community building. Prior to joining Garden City in 2008, Sabine served as College Chair, High School Coordinator, and Vice-President of the Board of the East Bay Waldorf School in El Sobrante, CA, where her school oversight responsibilities included faculty and staff evaluations and welfare. From 2000-04, she was College Chair and Dean of Faculty at the Rudolf Steiner School in NYC which she joined as a faculty member in 1993; among her many responsibilities there were coordinating the HR Committee and the hiring, firing, evaluation, and professional development of faculty and staff.

A Swiss Waldorf school graduate, Sabine earned her eurythmy diploma from the Eurythmeum in Stuttgart, Germany, completed her artistic education at Eurythmy Spring Valley, and received a pedagogical eurythmy diploma from Antioch New England. She has served many years as an AWSNA rep and has led parent anthroposphical study groups since 1998.

Karen Crandall is currently class teacher for the fifth grade at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs, NY. This is Karen’s third class cycle.  She led her first class, grades one through eight, from 1993-2001 and her second class from 2007-2012 (picking up the class in the middle of their 3rd grade year).  Karen has chaired the Teacher Development Committee in the school since 2009 and has been leading the All School Study in Anthroposophy since 2013.

A member of the Sunbridge Summer Series faculty, Karen holds a BFA from Penn State University and an MSEd from Sunbridge College.

 

Jessica Heffernan Ziegler has been the Executive Director of Sunbridge Institute since 2008. Her professional focus on governance issues, personnel development, and leadership skills are utilized in both her Executive Director position and in her work as co-instructor of Sunbridge’s Collaborative Leadership course and related workshops.

Jessica has worked as an executive coach and organizational development consultant for Waldorf school administrators and teachers, as well as other professionals, for many years, consulting in diverse institutions and schools in both the US and Germany. Her Waldorf background also includes serving as the first administrator and a board member at a Waldorf school she co-founded in Everswinkel, Germany. She is currently engaged in training with SECA International and is a partner in MIRA Companions for Development, an international consulting group. Jessica, who did biography training with Karl-Heinz Finke, holds a BS in Business Management.

FEE
$175 with online registration (available through 9am Friday, January 27). Cost includes snacks and lunch and a $25 non-refundable registration fee.

  • Sending schools receive a 5th registration free (plus cost of food) for every 4 paid registrations.

Space permitting, we will accept walk-ins on the day of the workshop; walk-in fee is $190, payable at the door through check or credit card.
